Shiri Bibas’ body has been returned to Israel after Hamas delivered the wrong body on Thursday.
The body delivered by Hamas on Friday has been identified as Shiri Bibas, according to a statement from his family.
“Last night, our Shiri was returned home,” said the family in his statement, which also confirmed that the identification was made by the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Israel.
The announcement follows Hamas’ previous statement that they had transferred their body to the Red Cross.
“Shiri was a wonderful mother for Ariel and Kfir, a loving couple from Yarden, a devotee sister and aunt, and an incredible friend. In this difficult time, we continue to demand and asking for the immediate return of the remaining hostages who are still in captivity. There is no more important goal.
Bibas, her husband and two young children were hostage for Hamas on October 7, 2023.

Hamas said he had delivered the remains of four Israeli hostages who died on Thursday: Shiri Bibas, 32; His two children, Ariel Bibas, 4 years old, and Kfir Bibas, 8 1/2 months, and Oded Lifshitz, 84.
After performing a forensic analysis, Israeli officials positively identified three of the bodies returned as Lifshitz and the children of Bibas, but said that the room was not that of their mother or any other hostage, according to Israel’s defense forces .
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised “revenge” for the return of an incorrect body.
